CLAW (Consortium of Local Authorities in Wales)

 

is the Consortium of Local Authorities in Wales that supports the professional and technical interests of property management in local government in Wales.

CLAW was formed in 1962 and now works with representatives from the elected members and officials of all Welsh local authorities together with a number of associate member organisations for the promotion of excellence in the management of property assets.

Partnerships

CLAW has a number of organisations with which it has partnering arrangements including:

The Centre for Research in the Built Environment (CRiBE), based at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University is recognised nationally and internationally for research and consultancy services in environmental design and energy use of buildings and the built environment.

The Carbon Trust, Wales is an independent company funded by Government.  Its role is to help the UK move to a low carbon economy by helping business and the public sector reduce carbon emissions now and capture the commercial opportunities of low carbon technologies.  CLAW has signed a declaration with the Carbon Trust acknowledging the impact that climate change will have on the principality and committing the consortium to tackling the causes and effects of a changing climate.

The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) which represents the interests of local authorities in Wales.
